Signage for US12 as it approaches Monore and Mills needs lane usage signage. For years, the left lane ended, there was no left turn lane, and the right lane could turn and merge thru on US12. Now, the lanes need to be identified with overhead signage -or- pavement markings, or both. This will help with the new traffic flow and stop swerve merges on US12. I suggest overhead signage similar to what I have drafted. I realize this may be the jurisdiction of MDOT or WCRC but I hope Saline can help solicit.

There are currently four ground signs indicating the right lane of US-12 at Mills is right turn only and one overhead sign indicating the center lane at Monroe is for left turn only. Five pavement markings will be installed shortly to further clarify lane use from Monroe to Mills.
This new lane configuration prevents lefts at Monroe from holding up westbound traffic, provides greater sight distance for cars pulling onto US-12 from Mills, and provides space for a sidewalk connecting Mills to Mill Pond Park.
