I voted to fix this - but let's not continue to simply move the homeless from one location to the next. We have our own ongoing problems with the homeless at Splash Pad Park. Let's start finding the resources to provide alternative housing and other services.

Oh, and there's a huge Dragonboat regatta coming up next week that will be drawing in massive crowds from all over the Bay Area...again, just FYI...

Maybe the Lake Merritt Institute can equip the Dragon boats with trash skimmers. Sad how the City leaders have let Lake Merritt and large sections of Oakland become dumps and s--t holes.

That's okay, people will have to work around the homeless, . parks are not for the homeless to camp in. The city needs to set limits on where they can and can not camp, but the city has continued to ignore the taxpayers and r in favor of the homeless. The homeless already know that no one will touch them. As large as Oakland is there is no excuse why there aren't several places for encampments to go. Most are not suitable for housing so the city needs to come up with a solution.
