Nearly wrecked yesterday - going a little fast and the conditions caused my load on the rear rack to shift violently to the side. Hopefully something can be done about this ASAP. This is THE worse bicycle lane I've ever ridden on in the East Bay - especially one that was specifically created to BE a bike lane. I appreciate the efforts of the community in accommodating safer bike routes, but this almost seems like the workers intentionally shafted us.

Today (August 8th), I rode this path on a different bike...and vibrated a nylon locking nut loose. I kid you not. Of course, going across the CAR access on Christie into the hotel area...smooth as silk! So, yes...we see where your priorities lie now. Pave over rough dirt without packing it smooth to shut the hippies up, right? That's how it seems. I have a friend who's starting to put together a documentary of bike lanes as complete afterthoughts, and he is really interested in this particular stretch. Just FYI.

Had a load on my rack yesterday. Hit this lane and it started falling off almost immediately, so I moved up onto the sidewalk. Guess what? The sidewalk is WONDERFULLY smooth...so why is the bike lane like a washboard?

Over two months now, and only an "acknowledgement". It's patently clear that no one bothered to grade/level the lane before paving it. All you need to do is ride it yourself to see what I'm talking about. I mean, you know, unless you like having the fillings in your teeth rattle...
